How It Works
Participants who purchase a ticket(s) through ShareTheWinnings.com are placed into a pool of no more than 600 tickets. If a pool has a winning ticket, each pool member wins a share of the jackpot, proportional to the number of tickets they purchased. For example, if there are 600 tickets in the pool, if you purchased 60 tickets, you would get 10% of the jackpot (after taxes of course…Uncle Sam has first dibs).
If more than 600 tickets are purchased before a drawing, the pool will be divided in 2 pools of 300, and so on. The split will be determined by date of purchase (first 300 tickets in Pool A, and remainder in Pool B). In the event a purchased ticket(s) wins, ShareTheWinnings.com will notify the members of the pool holding the winning ticket(s) by posting an announcement on our website homepage. It is the responsibility of pool participants to check the website for announcements.
Each pool participant may access a listing of the purchased ticket numbers through a link posted on the website.
All purchases of tickets through ShareTheWinnings.com must go through PayPal.
PayPal charges a transaction fee which will be added on to the purchase price of tickets purchased through ShareTheWinnings.com.
FAQ
Why does it cost more to buy a ticket through ShareTheWinnings.com than buying direct at the gas station?
Buying online through PayPal has transaction fees. ShareTheWinnings.com does not take any fee.
How does ShareTheWinnings.com make money if it doesn’t take a fee?
ShareTheWinnings.com charges (a very reasonable rate) for advertising on the site.
What happens if a ticket in a pool wins a small amount, but not the Powerball jackpot?
Powerball has the following prizes: Grand Prize, $200,000, $10,000, $100, $7, $4, and $3. In the event of a winning ticket for less than $10,000, ShareTheWinnings.com will roll the amount over into the next drawing by purchasing tickets for the next pool. Participants must buy a ticket in the next drawing to be a part of the pool. Tickets from previous drawings do not carry over into the next drawing… just like Powerball.
